Welcome to the London Borough of HACKNEY in east Middlesex.

It was incorporated in 1965 by bringing together the Metropolitan Boroughs of Hackney, Shoreditch and Stoke Newington.

Did you know that if you're born in Hackney or its sister Borough, Tower Hamlets, you are a true Eastender? Look at the map on the BBC's soap, "Eastenders" title sequence and to the left of your screen, in close-up, is Hackney at the East End of the Capital County.
