Welcome to the Royal Borough of KENSINGTON & CHELSEA in
south central Middlesex.

It was incorporated in 1965 by bringing together the Metropolitan Borough of Chelsea and the Royal Borough of Kensington.

The Royal prefix in the Borough's title comes by virtue of having the estate bought by William III known as 'Nottingham House' and renamed Kensington Palace within its precincts.
